Fixed-installation radar detectors are mounted permanently and out of sight in the vehicle. The radar antenna is usually located in the front of the vehicle or in the engine compartment, the display and control unit in the interior. This keeps the system inconspicuous from the outside and always ready for use, without having to plug it in every time. Many systems have a modular design and can be extended with a second antenna or a laser jammer.
