The new Target Blu Eye 2 is the legal way to detect approaching ambulances. Regardless of whether they are on the road with blue flashing lights and sirens or not. In addition, the Blu Eye warns of approaching civilian patrols, police cars and fire engines.
In almost all of Europe, the authorities (ambulances, fire brigade and police) use a digital communication system. In the UK, this system is known as Airwave. It is based on the worldwide standard Terrestrial Trunked Radio, or TETRA. Just as the GSM signal is the standard for mobile phones, TETRA is the standard for mobile communications for law enforcement and security services.
With the update from Target Version BlueEye 1 to the new BluEye 2 version, frequency detection has been significantly improved. The advance warning of the new Target Blu Eye 2, varies between a few hundred metres and about one kilometre. This means that you have enough time to recognise the situation and quickly move aside and/or reduce your speed.
Visual and audible warnings are given via a small panel with LED indicators. The distance to an emergency vehicle can be read via the reception strength indicator.
